I’m a huge fan of open kitchens and this kitchen at @andinalondon is a perfect example of it! Yesterday we went all the way to Notting Hill for the soft launch of the Shoreditch Andina’s West London sister - Andina Picantería. Head there to try Peruvian cuisine at its best including grilled chancaca octopus, yellow tuna sivinche (the ancient predecessor of the famous ceviche) and braised adobo pork leg. Thank you @andinalondon for having us!
I did my usual tour of #BelgraviaInBloom and #ChelseaInBloom yesterday, and it's looking stunning as always. I intended to put some photos up on the blog last night but Southeastern trains had other plans for my evening so I'll do it tonight instead. Here's a photo of the beautiful @peggyporschenofficial in the meantime 🌹🌸
I rarely make an appearance here, but these sunny days make me so happy that here you go. Me smiling over the healthiest lunch ever! Thank you @joeyscooking for having me and @highmoodfood for providing the best avocado toast!
Confession: it was the sign outside @abuelocoffeelondon promising “AUSSIE COFFEE” that drew me in. Then I heard how good the food is from another #aussieinlondon and head chef at @antidotewinebar, @justlikenonna. So I simply needed to get a taste of the menu from this cosy Australian-meets-South American coffee house right in the heart of Covent Garden. Opened by a team of owners that includes the founders of Sydney and Melbourne restaurants, @zigolinis and Trazini, the name Abuelo - or ‘grandfather’ - was inspired by Alberto de la Vega who hand crafted the timber joinery for their first restaurant in Syd. As further homage to Alberto, Abuelo Covent Garden features beautiful Australian NSW Spotted Gum throughout the cafe, including the family table in the background for #shareddining in #London . As for the food? Well, I can attest the rumours to be true! Pictured here is organic slow cooked lamb with labna on the left, two smoked paprika arepa with slow cooked pulled beef, pickled red cabbage and raw slaw at the back, and two massive, hearty ‘empanada sloppy joe’. Safe to say between two of us, we struggled! I always love seeing the Australian influence and presence in other parts of the world, and thankful to get a taste of the quality we’re SO lucky to consistently enjoy back home ❤️😋🍽
